Environment and Climate Change Canada Announced a Delay to the Publication of the Proposed Clean Fuel Standard Regulations for Liquid Fuels

Posted on by Scott Stanners

In recognition of the unprecedented circumstances we are facing in the context of COVID-19, in late April, Environment and Climate Change Canada announced a delay to the publication of the proposed Clean Fuel Standard regulations for liquid fuels in Canada Gazette, Part I. They now plan to publish proposed the regulations in fall 2020, with final regulations in late 2021 and are aiming for coming into force in mid-2022: see https://www.canada.ca/en/environment-climate-change/services/managing-pollution/energy-production/fuel-regulations/clean-fuel-standard.html. Regulations for the gaseous and solids classes will follow about one year later.
