Thank you to all stakeholders who submitted awards nominations. Our judging panel found it challenging to select only one recipient per category due to the high quality of nominees. If your nominee did not receive an award this year, we invite you to nominate them again in 2022.

In addition to hearing from the winners of the inaugural BC Bioenergy Sector awards, the online event featured comments from Special Guests including: Doug Hooper, Director, Policy and Regulations, at Advanced Biofuels Canada; David Schick, Vice President of Canadian Fuels Association, Western Division, and Don Roberts, Chair of the Board at Arbios Biotech; plus a surprise musical performance from Special Guest Pat Guidera, Director, Forest Technologies at Alberta Innovates Bio.

2021 was the inaugural year of the BC Bioenergy Sector Awards, hosted by BC Bioenergy Network. These awards recognize leaders who have made meaningful contributions to advance bioenergy research, policy, innovation, or sector building in British Columbia. Congratulations to the 2021 winners.
