Comprehensive life-cycle carbon tracking

Project Profile:

With support from BCBN, the BC Forestry Climate Change Working Group developed a comprehensive understanding of the forest fibre opportunity for bioenergy production.

Given the impact of climate change and other management risks such as forest fires and Mountain Pine Beetles, it was deemed important to position BC as a world leader in forest-based bioenergy production.

The principal deliverable under the contract was a report entitled “Life Cycle Impacts of Forest Management and Wood Utilization on Carbon Mitigation: Knowns and Unknowns”, prepared by The Consortium for Research on Renewable Industrial Materials (“CORRIM”).
