Vertogen Technologies, a Vancouver-based company, received a $500,000 investment from NorthX Climate Tech to accelerate pilot testing and deployment of its Renewable Natural Gas Accelerator at a British Columbia wastewater treatment plant. The proprietary technology reduced anaerobic digestion processing times by up to 90%, converting organic waste into biogas in less than two days compared to typical timelines of over 20 days. Pilot research took place at Metro Vancouver’s Annacis Research and Event Centre, focusing on optimizing conditions for multiple waste streams while leveraging existing infrastructure to increase renewable gas output and lower costs.
