Biodiesel Magazine: Leveling the Playing Field

Canada’s biofuel industry is under pressure as U.S. producers benefit from the 45Z Clean Fuel Production Credit and access Canadian credit programs. In response, Canada introduced a $370 million Biofuels Production Incentive to support domestic producers through 2027. While the move helps keep facilities running, industry leaders say further action is needed to compete fairly, expand renewable diesel and SAF production, and create stronger domestic markets for canola and other feedstocks.
