Boeing announced a $17.48 million CAD investment in two Canadian projects aimed at advancing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production. This commitment is part of Boeing’s Industrial and Technological Benefits obligations under Canada’s P-8A Poseidon program.
The investments include:
- $10 million CAD for Project Avance in Quebec, a joint venture between Bioenergie AECN and Alder Renewables, to convert sawmill residuals into a low-carbon biocrude for SAF production.
- $7.48 million CAD for Dimensional Energy in British Columbia to develop power-to-liquid technology that converts industrial CO2 emissions into synthetic aviation fuels.
These projects highlight the role of Canadian innovation in the global effort to decarbonize aviation and demonstrate the importance of low-carbon fuels for reducing lifecycle emissions in the sector.
