Braya Renewable Fuels, a Canadian producer of low-emission renewable fuels, has received a $300 million investment from Energy Capital Partners. This investment will be used to convert Braya’s Come-By-Chance refinery in Newfoundland and Labrador to renewable fuel operations, and to accelerate the production of renewable fuels such as renewable diesel, sustainable aviation fuel, hydrogen, and ammonia. The project will initially supply 18,000 barrels per day of low-carbon renewable fuel, with plans to increase capacity and production of sustainable aviation fuel. The goal is to provide alternatives to fossil fuels and reduce emissions in hard-to-abate sectors like heavy transport, aviation, and heavy industry.
