In an impressive stride towards forest sustainability and wildfire risk reduction, FESBC announced the approval of 66 projects, cumulatively valued at $47.9 million, in the past year. This initiative, sparked by Premier David Eby’s announcement at the Truck Logger’s Association convention in January 2023, aims to utilize waste wood and mitigate wildfire threats across British Columbia. A notable highlight is the active involvement of First Nations in 39 of these projects, showcasing a collaborative approach to forest management and enhancement.

Hiring for an Operations Manager

FESBC is seeking an Operations Manager who will assist the Society in delivering cost-effective and impactful programs to improve B.C. communities’ resilience to wildfire, forest conditions, wildlife habitat, fibre utilization, and forest carbon management.

Applications are welcome until the position is filled; however, an initial review of applications will be completed by March 8, 2024.
