In an effort to promote sustainable practices and support the agricultural industry, Wildsight is proposing the “Fire to Food” pilot project in Central Kootenay, B.C. The initiative aims to utilize biochar technology, a specific type of charcoal produced through pyrolysis of wood chips. The Regional District of Central Kootenay has expressed support for the project, operating under Wildsight’s Youth Climate Corps, and has provided in-kind support for potential funding through the provincial Rural Economic Diversification and Infrastructure Program (REDIP).
