UK’s First Commercial-Scale BECCS Project Approved

The UK government approved Evero’s Ince Biomass plant in Cheshire to proceed as the country’s first commercial-scale bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS) facility. The project will process 170,000 tonnes of waste wood annually, remove 217,000 tonnes of CO₂, and supply clean power to over 100,000 homes. It is expected to be operational by 2029.
