- British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT)
- An educational institution offering practical career credentials designed for the workplace, from diplomas and certificates to bachelor’s and master’s degrees. BCIT’s schools cover subjects as diverse as applied and natural sciences, business and media, computing and IT, engineering, health sciences and trades.
- Northern Lights College – Clean Energy Technology Centre of Excellence
- This centre, known as Energy House is home to the present and planned future clean energy technology training programs on the Dawson Creek campus. As well, the wood pellet boiler which is the heart of the centre’s District Energy system will be used as a training facility for renewable energy technologists.
- Okanagan College – The Jim Pattison Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Building Technologies and Renewable Energy Conservation
- Based at the Kelowna campus, the Centre is a facility that supports a program mix with a focus on sustainable building technologies and processes, as well as research and development of alternative and renewable sources of energy. The innovative features of the building itself are going to be used as a teaching tool to help train the next generation of tradespeople in green construction practices.
- Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions
- The Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions (PICS) is a dynamic knowledge network that brings together leading researchers from British Columbia and around the world to study the impacts of climate change and to develop positive approaches to mitigation and adaptation.
- Simon Fraser University (SFU)
- A public research university with three campuses, all in Greater Vancouver: Burnaby, Surrey, and Vancouver. Consistently ranked as Canada’s top comprehensive university and named to the Times Higher Education list of 100 world universities under 50.
- University of British Columbia
- The University of British Columbia (UBC) is a global centre for research and teaching, consistently ranked among the top 20 public universities in the world. At the Point Grey campus in Vancouver, UBC operates the Biomass and Bioenergy Research Group, the Bioenergy Research & Demonstration Facility, the Centre for Interactive Research on Sustainability and the Clean Energy Research Centre.
- University of Northern British Columbia
- Based in Prince George, the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) is a university both in and for the north, and this mission has instilled a strong sense of ownership, purpose, and adventure among students, alumni, faculty, staff and the communities served. UNBC is also Canada’s Green University™ , leading the way to a more sustainable future for all. UNBC operates three renewable energy initiatives: the Wood Pellet Project, the Bioenergy Plant and the Sustainable Communities Demonstration Project.

- Located in Victoria, BC, Vic is one of Canada’s leading research-intensive universities.
