The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported that nearly 20% of U.S. renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production was exported during the second half of 2025, averaging close to 50,000 barrels per day. Canada received slightly more than half of these exports, with most of the remaining volumes shipped to Europe. According to the EIA, lower export volumes in early 2026 reflected reduced production as some renewable diesel producers paused operations while awaiting updated Renewable Fuel Standard blending targets.
