Fuel Innovation Fund Launched $50 Million Future Fuels Challenge

The Fuel Innovation Fund launched the Future Fuels Challenge, a new $50 million competitive funding initiative aimed at supporting technologies that reduce the carbon intensity of transportation fuels in Canada. Administered by Emissions Reduction Alberta (ERA), the program will support projects aligned with Canada’s Clean Fuel Regulations, including biofuels, renewable natural gas, hydrogen, CCUS, refinery optimization, and low-carbon fuel production. Applications are open to both regulated and non-regulated entities, with funding requests ranging from $1 million to $10 million per project. Applications are due by June 10, 2026.
