- Bioenergy enhances energy security, with net import dependency for biofuels typically under 20%, compared to 82% for fossil fuels in the EU.
- Solid biomass use is stabilizing, while biogas/biomethane and liquid biofuels are growing, especially in transport and district heating.
- Renewable energy in transport is increasing, with Brazil and Sweden leading at 26% and 30% respectively.
