Province Funds 64 New Projects to Reduce Wildfire Risk and Support Forestry

The B.C. government is investing $19.8 million through the Forest Enhancement Society of BC to fund 64 wildfire risk reduction and forest enhancement projects. Thirty-one are First Nations-led, with 14 more involving Indigenous partnerships. These initiatives will repurpose nearly 11,000 truckloads of waste fibre and strengthen community resilience while supporting local economies.
